Guys, we have some amazing things coming up that we’re excited to share!  Before we get to that, we would love to thank all the parents that came to our September PTO meeting!  It was so nice to have your input, so thank you!  Also, thanks to all the families that came out for the Camp Flashlights and Friends event, it was great to see you all!  Please see our events, opportunities, and school directory information below!

September Events

Restaurant Night @ Chipotle in Castle Rock!  September 21st from 4:00PM – 8:00PM
Our first restaurant night of the year is coming up.  Hooray for Chipotle!

Terms for Online/Chipotle App Orders:

  •        Fundraiser applies to online orders for pickup only (not eligible with delivery).

Terms for In-Restaurant:

  •        Show the fundraiser flyer (hard copy or on your phone) -or-
  •        Tell the cashier at checkout, before you pay, that you are here for the American Academy Castle Pines fundraiser. If you don’t tell the cashier before paying, AACP won’t get credit for the sale.

Restaurant Night @ Crumbl Cookies in Parker!  October 5th 
Bonus restaurant night at Crumbl Cookies in Parker!  Get some delicious cookies and support our school. 

 

PTO Meeting - October 5th from 7:00PM - 8:00PM

Please join us for the September PTO meeting and get a volunteer hour!  The meeting will be held at the AACP Library, so come to the Kindie doors and someone will let you in. 
* Please note that masks will be required until further notice, per school regulations.

Rebels Reaching Out Clothing Drive – October 11-15th
October is almost here, and that means it’s time for our Winter Clothing Drive. Once again, we will be reaching out to our own AA families, Molholm Elementary School, and Pine Lane Elementary. Molholm is a Jefferson County school where more than 90% of the students are on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Pine Lane is a Douglas County school that also has a high FRL program. We are thrilled to be able to help out so many in need. 

The kids and their families would benefit greatly from gently used coats, sweatshirts, fleeces, mittens, hats, boots and other outerwear. Adult, children, and toddler sizes are greatly appreciated. Simply bring your bagged items (please wash prior to donating) to morning carpool the week of October 11-15th. A volunteer will pick them up from you. There will also be a box in the front lobby where you or your kiddos can drop them off.  

We will need volunteers to help with the collection and sorting of clothes. Please see the sign-up genius which contains both options.

Restaurant Night @ Chick-fil-A in Castle Rock!  October 12th from 6:00AM – 10:00PM
Support your school, and get some yummy dinner at Chick-fil-A!  You're in luck, both Castle Rock locations are participating!  Each time you participate in a restaurant night, you’re directly supporting our Castle Pines campus.

Get those Fall feels ready for the FALL FEST!! We will have trunk or treat, a haunted hallway, a pumpkin carving contest, and more!

In order for all this fun to happen we really need your help!  If you sign up to be a lead on one of these events you will automatically get your 40 hours of volunteer time!  Middle School students- we would love for you to help with the Haunted Hallway! Fall Fest

Hello! We need you to help volunteer to make this the BEST Fall Fest yet at American Academy Castle Pines!  You can do shifts, help set up, trunks, etc.  The opportunities are endless!  The event is Saturday October 30th from 3:00pm- 6:00pm


Signs ups to enter the Pumpkin carving contest will be up soon on MYSCHOOLBUCKS and it will be $10 to enter your pumpkin! The winner will receive a very big prize!!

Carpool VIP Passes for Sale!
Ever get tired of waiting in line for afternoon carpool? Ever wonder who those cars are that get to drive right past the line? Those are owners of a VIP Carpool Pass! And PTO only has 3 left for sale!!! For a $5000 donation to the PTO, you can have one for yourself! When you purchase a pass, simply arrive at the school by 3:20 and drive straight to the front of the school for pick up. Your kiddos will be released at the first bell and be in your car by the time the first car gets to pull up! This is a perfect option for those who have sports or extracurriculars they must get to straight away. Please email ptocppresident@aak8.org if interested. Pass will be good for entire 2021-2022 school year. First come, first serve!

Rebel Service Club Book Drive
Do you have books on your bookshelves at home that haven’t been read in years? Books that your kids have outgrown? Books that you tried to read, but just couldn’t get into? Summer reading list books that no longer have a use in your home? Consider donating them to our school’s book drive! Rebel Service Club is back in action and collecting new and gently used books for people of all ages! The drive is active now through Friday, October 1st, and all donations will help make age-appropriate literature available to kids and adults around Douglas County! Have your kids bring book donations in to their homeroom classroom. The grade level who donates the most books will win a popsicle party, and the class who donates the most books will win a dress of choice day!

Shutterfly and Classroom Funds
We are now collecting class funds of $40 per student to pay for class parties, teacher pampering, gala baskets, etc.  Class Funds or a donation of any amount will be accepted through MySchoolBucks.  Our PTO uses Shutterfly Share Sites to create a page for each grade level.  Room Parents and Teachers share classroom sign-ups, photos, volunteer opportunities, class calendars, and more via these sites.  Please fill out the Shutterfly Authorization Form on the donation page to be included.

Gaga Ball Pit
The PTO has tried repeatedly to get a provider for 9-Square without any success.  We would like the option to put in a Gaga Ball Pit instead!  We will be taking comments on this decision until November 1st.  If you have a comment, please send it to ptocppresident@aak8.org.


Ongoing Fundraising Opportunities

King Soopers

King Soopers Rewards Program

Our local grocery store is a big fundraiser for our school.  Please take a minute to link your King Soopers Rewards Card to the American Academy Castle Pines fundraising program.  It’s easy to do by accessing your account online.  Once linked, all your purchases, including gasoline, at King Soopers will be automatically credited to our school fundraiser.  Tell your family members about it and ask them to do the same!  www.kingsoopers.com

 

Longmont Dairy Caps: Milk Caps for Moola

Did you know Longmont Dairy is an ongoing fundraising program and longtime supporter of American Academy?  If you’re not already signed up for their home delivery service, or aren’t aware of the wide variety of products they provide, look at this product link!  Give them a try!  https://longmontdairy.com/products

We love your Longmont Dairy Cap drop-offs!  Please keep collecting your caps and dropping them at the school.  The drop box is the black and white “dairy” box, next to the doors inside the front lobby.  Kindly wash/rinse your dairy caps before bagging them for the drop.  Clean caps are the best caps! 

 

Box Tops

Mabel’s Labels

Tis the beginning of the year when kids forget to bring home their water bottles, lunch boxes, and jackets. We have created an account on Mabel’s Labels for any of you who love to use these on everything kids lose. Shop online now and grab some labels! Similar to restaurant nights, the Castle Pines campus will receive a percentage of all sales. For more information click **HERE. 

 

American Furniture Warehouse

American Furniture Warehouse’s rewards program credits our school with purchases in the store, over the phone, or online.  AFW donates 2% back to our school on merchandise purchased.  AFW Store Rally dates will be announced soon for our school; however, purchases made any time of the year count toward our school credit.  To begin shopping online, go to: www.afw.com.  Be sure to mention American Academy Castle Pines fundraising program for all purchases.
