Castle Pines


2nd Annual pAArty in the Park – Saturday, August 25th

Please join fellow AA-CP families at our 2nd Annual pAArty in the park this coming Saturday, August 25th from 4pm-7pm at Coyote Ridge Park in Castle Pines (7485 Serena Dr, Castle Pines).  We will have several food trucks, a face painter, a balloon twister and more! This is a free social event for our AA-CP community to get the year off to a great start meeting new friends and catching up with the old friends! This event is open to anyone from American Academy and brought to you by the AAPTO-CP.  Please bring your own food or let the trucks cook for you.  Also bring your own beverages, chairs, tents, blankets, etc.  **Please note the food trucks will not be hosted.**


We also will need volunteers at the event to sell dunk tank tickets.  Please sign up here if you would like to help!


First Restaurant Night – August 29

Come join us at MOD Pizza on Wednesday, August 29th for our first restaurant night of the year.  We will receive 20% of all sales when you mention American Academy at the register.  You can also print the flier located on this page.  You have to eat anyway, so why not support the school at the same time!  Just bring the flyer to MOD Pizza between 4pm-9pm. 


Rebels Reaching Out Winter Clothing Drive -  September 17th-21st

September is almost here and that means it’s time to clean out last year’s winter gear to make room for your new coats and boots! This year we will be reaching out to Molholm Elementary School, AA-CP Free and Reduced Lunch families AND a location in our local community! Now even more people will benefit from the generosity of our AA-CP families! The items you bring will be divided based on the number of students at each location. 


The kids and their families need your new or gently used coats, sweatshirts, fleeces, mittens, hats, boots and other outerwear. Adult, Children, and Infant sizes are needed. We are also collecting backpacks and lunchboxes!  Simply bring your bagged items (please wash prior to donating) to morning carpool during September 17th-21st and a volunteer will pick them up from you. There will also be a box in the front lobby where you or your kiddos can drop off donations. Any questions, please contact Catherine Doherty.


Molholm Elementary is a Jefferson County school where more than 90% of the families are on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Each year the AAPTO-CP holds a Winter Clothing Drive, a Food Drive, and a Toy Drive to benefit these families


We are excited to extend the Rebel generosity to our AA-CP FRL families and a location in our local community.  We are still working out the details with a location in Douglas County. Additional details will be provided in the next PTO Post. 


We will also need some volunteers to help with collection during morning carpool. There will be signs in the office for you to pick up and hold outside.  Please volunteer to help with the donation pick up by clicking here


First AACP Movie Night – Sept 22nd

We are excited to add this social event to our calendar.  We will be watching a kid friendly movie – still being determined – at the school.  Our plan is to watch the movie outdoors weather permitting.  This event will start at 7pm on Saturday, September 22nd.  More details will be posted on our next communication.


K-8 Fun Run – September 28

This school year ALL students will be participating in the Fun Run. Middle school will be joining the rest of the school again. However, they will have a different "look" to the run. This year the event will take place Friday, September 28th at Elk Ridge Park. Students all run during their specials class time. Please be on the lookout for emails soon for further fundraising information, volunteers sign ups and prize information. Prizes will NOT be cumulative again this year.

Are you planning a party for your child and want to send out invitations?  Do you want to reach out to a parent in your child's class, but you don't have their email or phone number? The American Academy School Directory is the resource you need to make your life easier!  Yes! That's right! We have a way to save you time and make your life easier! Now, if only we had a way to do your dishes and laundry. Next week, we will be sending out a separate email with all of the details about this awesome resource!

Mabel’s Labels Scrip

We have created an account on Mabel’s Labels, so for any of you who love to use these on everything our kids lose, look for American Academy Castle Pines or click here to shop.  Similar to our restaurant nights, we receive a percentage of all sales.


PTO-CP Monthly Board Meetings

PTO-CP Monthly Board Meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at the AA-CP Library.  Our next meeting will be Sept 4th. Our meetings open at 7pm and parents are ALWAYS welcome to attend. This is a great way for parents to get involved and learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
