Dear AACP Families,

 

Thanks to all who participated in our auction. We are so grateful for the support. We are getting all of our numbers so we can report back how much we were able to make. We will have those for everyone, shortly!

 

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week Deadline - Tuesday, April 28, 2020

As you know, every year we show extra appreciation for our teachers and staff during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week -- May 4-8, 2020.  This is your opportunity to extend your gratitude for the hard work and passion they pour into their job to create an amazing learning environment for our children. 

 

Please submit a picture of your child or your family to your child's Shutterfly Class site by Tuesday, April 28, 2020! This will take just 5 minutes and will be a lifetime treasure for our teachers and staff. For additional details please click here.

Open Board Positions

We have two open board positions that we need to fill. Both Treasurer and Asst Treasurer are open. If you are interested, please go to our website and apply. The commitment is 2 years with the option of a third. Here are the job descriptions:

Treasurer

  •    The AACP PTO Treasurer (Treasurer) is the custodian of the parent group’s funds.
  •    Helps develop the budget, collects all receipts and deposits to the bank, records receipts and disbursements, budget vs actuals and amendments to the budget.
  •    Creates periodic financial reports for the Vice Presidents of PTO Board and full financial reports for the President of the PTO Board.
  •    Acts as the liaison with the Foundation of Douglas County Schools (FDCS) accounting team and reconciles the AACP PTO receipts and disbursements to the FDCS financial reports.
  •    Responsible for maintaining and reconciling Grade Level Room Parent spreadsheets.
  •    If someone holds the AACP PTO Assistant Treasurer (Asst. Treasurer) role, the AACP PTO Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the work of the Asst. Treasurer.
  •    If the Asst. Treasurer role is unfilled, the AACP PTO Treasurer will also be responsible for processing pay vouchers for submission to the FDCS for payment to vendors and reimbursements to parents, teachers, etc. for AACP PTO related activities on a weekly basis.

 

Assistant Treasurer

The AACP PTO Assistant Treasurer (Asst. Treasurer) is responsible for processing pay vouchers for submission to the FDCS for payment to vendors and reimbursements to parents, teachers, etc. for AACP PTO related activities on a weekly basis. The Asst. Treasurer ensures all required pay voucher documentation are provided to the FDCS to support payment and are maintained on the AACP PTO Treasurer’s PTO approved storage (i.e., Office 365). The Asst. Treasurer communicates with AACP PTO Board members and committee heads, parents, teachers, and vendors on pay voucher related questions. The Asst. Treasurer is the liaison with the Foundation of Douglas County Schools (FDCS) for pay voucher related items, The Asst. Treasurer also updates Grade Room Parent spend tracking spreadsheets with related pay vouchers.
