Dear American Academy Parents,

 

What a way to end the week with a taste of winter weather! While most of us were not ready for that, what we are sure you are ready for is Fall Break! When you return we will be gearing up for our Fall Festival and before you know it, November events. There is also a quick update on Fun Run, the Directory (if you missed it), and more. Have a wonderful Fall Break!

Final Box Top Collection-October 25th

October 25th will be our last and final Box Top Collection. Send in your Box Tops anytime between now and October 25th, so we have time to cut, count, and mail them in before the deadline. The front office or your child’s homeroom teacher will accept them. Don’t forget to download the new Box Top app on your phone!

 

Fall Festival-October 26th

The kids will look forward to this family fun filled event after coming back from Fall Break. There will be hay rides, bounce houses, haunted hallway, and Trunk or Treat in the parking lot. Come dressed in costume and be ready to have a “ghoulish” good time! Located at our school from 3:00pm-5:00pm. We are still in need volunteers to decorate their trunk and have a fun theme, game, or just a fun way to hand out candy! Please click here to sign up. (you get VOLUNTEER HOURS!)

 

Rebels Reaching Out Food Drive–November 4th-November 8th

The AAPTO-CP will be collecting dried and canned goods for the food banks at Molholm and Pine Lane Elementary.  As you know, Molholm Elementary is a JeffCo. School where over 90% of the students are on the Free or Reduced lunch program.  Pine Lane is a Douglas County school that also has a high FRL program. The staff and families of both these schools can really use your help and are always grateful for the generosity of our AA-CP families.  

 

Any dried or canned goods are appreciated, however, below is a list of the most requested items:

Simply bring the food items (check the expiration dates if donating from your pantry) to morning carpool during the week of November 4-8 and a volunteer will pick them up from you.  There will also be a box in the front lobby.

Come join us at 7pm in the school library. Earn volunteer hours and see what our PTO is all about.

 

Restaurant Night-Chick-Fil-A-November 5th

“Moo”ve over Pizza Nights, (hey, the Chick-Fil-A cows would have giggled) our next Restaurant Night is at Chick Fil-A, located at 6353 Promenade Parkway. (This is the ONLY location for Restaurant Night.) Try the double drive thru or enjoy eating inside, just mention AA-CP (ALL DAY) for us to receive credit.

 

Restaurant Night-Noodles and Company-November 6th (flyer needed)

Because of the timing of setting up our Restaurant Nights, this happened to land on the next day. Come both nights or choose your favorite, but on the 6th it will be held at Noodles and Company in Castle Rock from 4-8PM. A Flyer will be needed and we will attach it on our next post and on our website soon.

 

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon-November 13th

For our next luncheon, let's show our teachers and staff how thankful we are to have them at American Academy Castle Pines! Our third teacher/staff appreciation luncheon will be a Thanksgiving feast!  Please click the following link to select an item to bring to the school for this much appreciated event.

AACP Holiday Boutique-November 16th

Shop until you drop! Mark you calendar because you do not want to miss this event. The Holiday Boutique is from 9:00AM-1:00PM at the school. This year we will also have a Kid’s Corner in the cafeteria. Lots of cute and fun booths to get all of your holiday shopping done.

 

Restaurant Night-Chipotle-November 19th (flyer needed)

Visit the Chipotle Restaurant in Castle Rock from 5-9PM. Flyer is needed to receive credit and we will attach it in our next post and on our website soon.

 

Giving Tree/Holiday Funds-starts November 25th

Fun Run 2019

We did it!! We reached our goal!! We are so grateful for everyone's participation that helped to make this event so successful! We are finalizing the fundraiser numbers and preparing all the prizes.  Stay tuned for an email after fall break from the Fun Run Crew announcing winners and the details of Fun Run prize week.

Restaurant Night

Our Facebook PTO page was the first to break the news that we earned $705.00 from Scileppi’s! Wow! We want to thank all of our AA parents and kids that came out to support our school and to Scileppi’s for hosting Restaurant Night.

DirectorySpot - School Directory - The wait is over!

We are excited to announce that DirectorySpot, the school directory, has been updated with the 2019-20 information! If you have the DirectorySpot app on your phone from last year, the information has been updated automatically. If you are new to the school, you received an email from DirectorySpot on September 29, 2019 with a link to set your password and access instructions. Once you have set your password, you will be able to download the app to your phone and access the directory online.  If you missed the 7 day window to set your password, you will have to do the following:

What to expect from the DirectorySpot mobile app:

The following menu options will be at the bottom of the screen:

Families - You will see the list of all the families at American Academy Castle Pines and at the top you will have the ability to search for a specific family.  If you click on a family name, you will see the following information: Parent name, phone number, email address, name/grade/teacher of the students in the family and home address.

Classes - You will see a list of teachers/classes in alphabetical order by the teacher's last name.  If you click on a teacher/class, you will see a list of all of the students in the class.  If you click on a student's name, you will see the following information: parent name, phone number, email address, name/grade/teacher of any other students in the family and home address.

Calendar - Will display the current school calendar

Resources - This menu option is super exciting!  You will have quick links to the following sites: AAPTO News page, Kickboard, AACP website, AACP School Store, Infinite Campus, School Lunch Menu and My School Bucks.

What to expect from the DirectorySpot online:

The following menu options will be at the top of the screen:

Directory -You will be able to search for information in the following ways: Family, Teacher, Grade, and Class.  

Family Search - Once you locate the family you are looking for, you can click on the name and the following information is displayed: home address, name/grade/teacher of the students in the family, and parent name/phone number/email address. 

Teacher Search - You will see a list of all the teachers. If you click on their name, you will see their contact information.

Grade Search - You will see a list of all the students and at the top of the screen will be the following search options: student, teacher and grade. Once you locate the student you are looking for, you can click on the name and the following information is displayed: home address, name/grade/teacher of the students in the family, and parent name/phone number/email address. 

Class Search - You will see a list of teachers/classes in alphabetical order by the teacher's last name. If you click on a teacher/class, you will see a list of all of the students in the class.  If you click on a student's name, the following information is displayed: home address, name/grade/teacher of the students in the family, and parent name/phone number/email address.

Longmont Dairy Caps – Milk Caps for Moola

If you get your milk delivered from Longmont Dairy, be sure to save those caps! We get 5 cents for every cap that includes, Milk, Iced Tea, Lemonade, Orange Juice, Coffee Creamers, and Cold Brew Coffee. You can send them in a bag and drop off at the front desk.
