Dear American Academy Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are in full on December mode with lots of ways to Celebrate the Season of Giving. We have the Holiday Fund and Toy Drive just to name a few. And when you are needing a break from making dinner, come on out to one of our Restaurant Nights. We want to celebrate the Dads this month, so don’t forget to RSVP to our Doughnuts and Dads! And last but not least, come out to our Parents Night Out and rejuvenate yourself before the holidays! Have a great week!

Holiday Fund–Now through December 13th

This much-loved tradition is an opportunity for families to give cash gifts to the teachers and staff of American Academy in lieu of individual holiday gifts. This is a great way to do something extra special during the holiday season for those people who are so important in our children’s education and lives. If you would like to participate, the form and money will need to be returned to school by Friday, December 13th. Please remember, since the teachers/staff love this tradition so much, the class money already collected by the room parents is not used to purchase a holiday gift for the teachers and instructional assistants. In addition, you can use the Holiday Gift Fund Form to help AACP families in need! You can do this by donating to the Giving Tree while making your contributions to the Holiday Gift Fund. The Holiday Fund Form should have been sent home on Friday, November 22nd. You can also locate the information and download the form on the PTO Service and Outreach web page:

Please consider supporting this project. For $1 you can send a Candy Cane Gram to you child, friends, or teachers. For $3, you can send a cute holiday bear with the candy cane! Students can purchase the Candy Cane Grams before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays after we return from Thanksgiving Break. If you would like to purchase one for your child there will be forms at the front office and in your child’s Friday Folder. Candy Cane Grams will be delivered on Monday, December 16th.
