Steve Colella serves as the Deputy Executive Director of Schools for American Academy.
Borne of his own school experience, Steve has a passion for education. Over the course of a 20-year career, Steve has enjoyed work as a social studies teacher, high school basketball coach, and labor and employment law attorney. Prior to joining AA, Steve drew from these professional experiences in his role as Executive Director of Employee Relations with the Cherry Creek School District and Chief Human Resources Officer/Chief Legal Counsel for the Douglas County School District.
Steve earned a BA degree in History and Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts Degree in Secondary Instruction- Social Studies from Stanford University, and a Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School.
In 2011, Steve moved to Colorado from California with his wife, Alyson. They live in Parker and have three children-- all of whom currently attend or will attend American Academy.
