slave:         worked on farms

 

aqueduct:   bridge that carries water

 

chariot:      cart pulled by horses

 

Colosseum: arena for gladiator fights

 

Circus Maximus: arena for chariot races

 

province:    area of land controlled by a government

 

peninsula: piece of land sticking out into a body of                                                         water
